Latinos Unidos, 1/30/10
Dear Friends and Members of the Indiana Democratic Latino Caucus.
You are invited to participate in "Latinos Unidos" an informational session whose goal will be to empower Latinos in Indiana. The event is scheduled for January 30, 2010 will take place at Garcia Construction Group located at 6002 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. The guest speaker is the Marion County Democratic Political Director, Mr. Scott Carr.
The Latino's Unidos seminar is sponsored by the Latino PAC with support from the Indiana Democratic Latino Caucus. This session is vital to our goal of having a voice in the political process. You will receive information on the following topics:
Precinct Committeeperson. Learn about the filing requirements, filing deadlines, responsibilities of the position, etc.
State Delegate: Information about the position of Delegate to the State Convention, including filing requirements, the state party platform, hear from the candidates for statewide office, meet many of your Democratic friends from throughout the state.
County Slating Convention: The convention occurs prior to slating. Get informed on the Democratic Party process for selecting candidates for the primary elections.
Question and Answer Session: Feel free to submit questions in advance of session to mm2@indiana.edu.

The draft agenda is as follows:
1) Final review and adoption of the bylaws
2) Selection of At-Large Members (leadership) for the Steering Committee
3) Establish a membership criteria, including dues, and
4) Request that the State Party recognize the Caucus and give a representative a voting seat on the State Party Central Committee
Please let us know if you plan on participating in the conference call by sending an e-mail to join@INLDC.org. If you wish to “run” for an At-Large seat on the steering committee but cannot participate in the October 19 conference call, please make sure that someone enters your name during the nomination process.
If you are in the Indianapolis area, a group will be gathering in the new office of the Indiana Democratic Party, 115 West Washington Street, Suite 1165, Indianapolis, to participate in the telephonic meeting. (From 1:00 to 6:00 PM, the state party will be holding an “open house” at its new headquarters; you are invited to attend the open house, and stay for the Latino Caucus meeting at 6:00 PM.)
